Press Release

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Steven Horsford (D-NV-04) released the following statement after President Biden announced his nomination of Acting Director of the Office of Management and Budget Shalanda Young to serve as the agency’s Director.

“During her eight months as Acting Director of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), Shalanda Young has played a key role in shaping our nation’s economic recovery,” said Congressman Steven Horsford. “There is no one else who brings her depth of experience or Congressional relationships. She has an expert understanding of the budget process and has built trust on both sides of the aisle. Together with my colleagues in the Congressional Black Caucus, I have long urged President Biden to make her position permanent. His decision to elevate Ms. Young is the right move, and I urge the Senate to quickly confirm her nomination.
