Congressman Horsford Secures $24.5 Million in Federal Funding for PPE Distribution to First Responders
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, Congressman Steven Horsford (D-NV-04) announced his office has helped to secure more than $24.5 million in federal grant funding for the Nevada Division of Emergency Management to provide personal protective equipment (PPE) to Nevada’s first responders and emergency management personnel.
“Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, first responders and emergency management personnel have put themselves at great personal risk to protect our communities from this virus,” said Congressman Steven Horsford. “I’m deeply grateful for their service and sacrifice, and it’s an honor to bring federal funds back to Nevada for the PPE that keeps them safe.”
The federal funding allocated through this grant will be used to cover the cost of purchasing and distributing PPE (gloves, disposable face shields, N95 masks, coveralls, and powered air purifying respirators) to first responders and emergency management personnel.
