Congressman Steven Horsford Presents Healing PTSD Stamp to Local Veterans

February 19, 2020

Las Vegas, Nev. — On Thursday, February 20, 2020, Congressman Steven Horsford will meet with local Nevada veterans to present them with the new Healing PTSD stamp from the United States Postal Service.

"With this stamp presentation, I have the privilege to honor the veterans who served our nation in the face of peril and now must live every day with the challenges that PTSD presents," Congressman Horsford said. "As their Congressman, it is my responsibility to recognize the sacrifices that these brave men and women have made. This stamp commemorates veterans' experiences and demonstrates support to those who live with PTSD."

The stamp features a photographic illustration of a green plant sprouting from the ground, which is covered in fallen leaves. The image is intended to symbolize the PTSD healing process.

The Congressman will also award Mr. Patrick Nickolls the Purple Heart Medal and certificate and the Valorous Unit Award. Mr. Nickolls received the Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross Unit Citation with Palm Device and the Republic of Vietnam Civil Actions Honor Medal Unit Citation, First Class for his service and actions while serving in the Vietnam War in 1970-1971.
