Horsford Announces $6.5 Million for HIV Care in Clark County

May 23, 2024

WASHINGTON – Today, Congressmen Steven Horsford (NV-04) announced $6.5 million in federal grants from the Department of Health and Human Services to improve HIV/AIDS health care services in Clark County. These funds will boost health initiatives that combat HIV and improve community health outcomes.

“I’m grateful for the arrival of $6.5 million that will transform our fight against HIV in Clark County,” said Congressman Horsford. “With the 5th highest rate of new HIV diagnoses in the country, Nevada faces hurdles in improving HIV care. These investments will enable our health officials to expand preventative services and improve care, ensuring that they are equipped to meet this challenge head on.”

The grants include $5.2 million from the HIV Emergency Relief Project Grants and an additional $1.3 million from the Ending the HIV Epidemic: A Plan for America Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program. These funds will support ongoing health services and introduce new interventions aimed at reducing HIV transmission and providing comprehensive care to those living with HIV.
