Horsford Announces Major Funding for Solar Energy in Nevada
NORTH LAS VEGAS – Today, Congressman Steven Horsford announced the awarding of over $218 million in federal funding to enhance solar energy accessibility across Nevada. The Nevada Clean Energy Fund will receive $156.12 million from the Solar for All program, while GRID Alternatives' Western Indigenous Network will benefit from a $62.45 million grant aimed at Tribal communities.
“I am thrilled to see this substantial clean energy investment for Nevada," said Congressman Horsford. "These funds will help modernize our energy grid ensure that renewable resources are accessible to all Nevadans, including our often-overlooked tribal communities. I’m excited about the jobs, educational opportunities, and sustainable energy solutions that will go to where they are most needed to build a sustainable future.”
These investments will support the Nevada Solar for All (NSFA) initiative and the Western Indigenous Network Solar For All (WIN-SFA) program, both designed to offer financial and technical assistance for solar projects. The programs aim to transform Nevada’s solar market into a vibrant, self-sustaining industry that prioritizes low-income and disadvantaged communities, including rural, urban, and Tribal areas.
