Congressman Horsford Appointed To Serve On House Natural Resources Committee

January 24, 2019

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, Congressman Steven Horsford (NV-04) released the following statement upon his selection to serve as a member of the House Natural Resources Committee.

"I'm excited to serve on a committee at the forefront of federal efforts to protect Nevada's national parks, natural resources, and tribal communities," said Congressman Horsford. "I understand the benefits public lands provide to our small businesses and tourism economy. Which is why I've spent my career working to safeguard treasures like Nevada's Tule Springs and Basin and Range National Monuments."

"As a member of the committee, I'm looking forward to extending access to our national parks and cultural treasures to underserved and communities of color."

The House Committee on Natural Resources considers legislation and oversees federal efforts related to conservation, national parks and public lands, Indian and Alaskan Native Affairs, and species conservation.
