Congressman Horsford Holds Town Hall on Creating Jobs and Lowering Costs in Nevada’s Fourth District

December 16, 2021

NORTH LAS VEGAS, NEV. — Today, Congressman Horsford held a telephone town hall with residents of Nevada's Fourth District to talk about how the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act and the Build Back Better Act will create jobs, lower costs, and accelerate Nevada's economic recovery from the pandemic. The town hall included two guest speakers — Assemblywoman Susie Martinez, the Executive Secretary-Treasurer of the Nevada State AFL-CIO, and Barry Gold, the Director of Government Relations for the Nevada AARP.

"As we approach a new year, my focus is on lowering costs for Nevada families and crushing the coronavirus to get our economy back on track and people back to work safely. During today's town hall, I was glad to hear from residents of the Fourth District about the support they need to rebuild from the challenges of the pandemic," said Congressman Steven Horsford. "Last month, I fought to pass the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act to create jobs and bring billions of dollars in federal investments to Nevada. As we work to pass the Build Back Better Act, Nevada is on track to a stronger, more prosperous future. I want to thank Assemblywoman Martinez of the Nevada State AFL-CIO and Barry Gold of the Nevada AARP for joining today's town hall to share their expertise and answer questions from our audience."

"As we near the end of 2021, it's an honor to join Congressman Steven Horsford to discuss the work that our pro-labor Democratic leaders have accomplished for working Nevadans. By voting to pass the bipartisan Infrastructure Investments and Jobs Act and the Build Back Better Act, Congressman Horsford and his Democratic colleagues will create more than 140,000 jobs for Nevada and bring the union difference to more of our working brothers and sisters," said Susie Martinez, Executive-Secretary of the Nevada State AFL-CIO.
