Congressman Horsford Honors the Service and Sacrifice of Nevada’s Veterans and Military Families
NORTH LAS VEGAS, NEV. — Today, Congressman Steven Horsford (D-NV-04) released the following statement to recognize the service and sacrifices of America's veterans and military families:
"Every year on Veterans Day, we celebrate the brave veterans who served our great nation during times of war and times of peace. Nevada's Fourth District is home to four military installations and thousands of veterans and military families, and I am deeply grateful for their service," said Congressman Steven Horsford. "Our veterans and their families deserve ongoing recognition for their contributions and sacrifices. As we recover from the pandemic, I am committed to delivering the resources they need to live healthy and successful lives."
Congressman Horsford has supported passage of several pieces of legislation to help the Department of Veterans Affairs fulfill their duty to our nation's veterans, including the SAVE LIVES Act, the THRIVE Act, and the American Rescue Plan, which he worked to pass in March 2021. These laws are helping the federal government keep their promises to our nation's veterans — but there is still more to be done.
In the weeks ahead, Congressman Horsford will be working to pass the Build Back Better Act, which sets aside $5 billion for the VA to rebuild key infrastructure, invest in their workforce, and expand the resources available for veterans.
