Congressman Horsford Launches Radio Ad Campaign, Online Resources on the Advanced Child Tax Credit
NORTH LAS VEGAS, NEV. — Congressman Steven Horsford (D-NV-04) has announced the launch of new radio and web resources to educate families in Nevada's Fourth District about advance Child Tax Credit payments, which started today as part of the American Rescue Plan's support for working families.
RADIO CAMPAIGN: This week, Congressman Horsford launched a primetime Spanish-language radio information campaign on KISF 103.5 to highlight the benefits of the Child Tax Credit. The spot will run through July 25, and is expected to reach more than 61,000 listeners in the Las Vegas metropolitan area. This launch follows an earlier radio campaign on the Child Tax Credit that aired on three stations in English and Spanish.
NEW WEB RESOURCES: This week, Congressman Horsford also launched a new web page with detailed resources about the Child Tax Credit. The page can be found at /childtaxcredit.
Since the American Rescue Plan was signed into law, Congressman Horsford has worked to raise public awareness about the benefits of the Child Tax Credit for families in Nevada's Fourth District. Recent outreach includes:
- Opinion pieces in the Las Vegas Sun and Urban Voice to emphasize the importance of the 2021 tax filing deadline for Nevada families to qualify for the Child Tax Credit.
- A Bilingual Radio Ad Campaign on the Child Tax Credit with spots in English on KCEP 88.1 and REAL 103.9, and in Spanish on Univision's KSIF 103.5.
- A Listening and Information Session on the Child Tax Credit with families from Acelero Learning. (July 8, 2021).
- A Telephone Town Hall on the Child Tax Credit to answer questions from families and share timely information. This Town Hall included special guests from the IRS and the Children's Advocacy Alliance. (June 28, 2021).
- A Child Tax Credit Day of Action and Facebook Live conversation to highlight the benefits of the Child Tax Credit for Nevada families. The Facebook Live conversation included special guests from the IRS and Make it Work Nevada. (June 21, 2021).
- Local tax preparation events to help families qualify for advance Child Tax Credit payments. During an event hosted by the Nevada Free Taxes Coalition, Congressman Horsford participated in a television interview with KTNV to highlight the benefits of the Child Tax Credit.
