Congressman Horsford Secures Nearly $13 Million to Help Nevada Families Cover Energy Costs
NORTH LAS VEGAS, NEV. — Today, Congressman Steven Horsford (D-NV-04) announced that his office has secured nearly $13 million to help Nevada families with energy costs this winter. The funding comes from H.R. 5305, the continuing resolution that Congressman Horsford voted to pass in September 2021. Earlier this year, Congressman Horsford voted to secure more than $11 million in energy assistance for low-income Nevada families through the passage of the American Rescue Plan.
"As Nevada recovers from the economic and personal toll of the pandemic, no family should be worried about how to keep their house heated this winter," said Congressman Steven Horsford. "If your family is struggling with energy bills, help is within reach. I'm proud to have secured nearly $13 million for new low-income home energy assistance, and I encourage those in need to reach out to the Division of Welfare and Supportive Services for information on how to apply for aid."
Nevada families who need assistance should contact the Division of Welfare and Supportive Services.
