Congressman Horsford to Appear at Barbershop Pop-Up and Men’s Health Community Conversation Event

Las Vegas, Nevada — On Saturday, July 20, 2019, Congressman Steven Horsford will speak at a Barbershop Pop-up and Health Screen event, hosted by Aetna, a CVS Health company. The event will take place at Executive Cuts Barbershop at 921 W. Owens Blvd. in Las Vegas. The pop-up will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Following the barbershop pop-up, Congressman Horsford will deliver remarks to discuss the need for education and strategic programming to combat the challenges facing minority communities. This community conversation will take place at 710 W. Lake Mead Blvd. in North Las Vegas.

This two-part event will raise awareness of the health disparities in minority communities, especially for Black men, and gather needed resources to tackle barriers to care. Congressman Horsford is a strong supporter and advocate of regular health screenings and is committed to using his voice to improving health outcomes in minority communities. These events are a part of the Theta Pi Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. Alpha Day, celebrating the 95th General Convention of Alpha Phi Alpha which officially begins July 24.
