Congressman Horsford Urges Local Non-Profit Organizations to Apply for $30 Million in Community Recovery Grants from the American Rescue Plan

December 13, 2021

NORTH LAS VEGAS, NEV. — Congressman Steven Horsford (D-NV-04) is urging local non-profit organizations to apply for $30 million in Community Recovery Grants funded by the American Rescue Plan. Applications for the Community Recovery Grants program opened on December 9, 2021 and will close on January 3, 2022.

"Nine months ago, I fought to pass the American Rescue Plan to kickstart Nevada's recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic. I'm excited that the State of Nevada is using American Rescue Plan funds to launch the Community Recovery Grant program and support the non-profits that are helping our communities rebuild," said Congressman Steven Horsford. "Non-profits in Nevada's Fourth District have delivered critical services throughout the pandemic, and they deserve more resources to expand their work. My office is available to help with the Community Recovery Grant application process, and I strongly encourage local organizations to reach out with questions."

Local non-profits can apply for grant funding at NevadaRecovers.com. Information for applicants is available in both English and Spanish. Non-profits who previously submitted ideas for funding through the Nevada Recovers Listening Tour must fill out a formal application.

The Community Recovery Grant program is administered by the State of Nevada, but Congressman Horsford's office can provide assistance to applicants. To learn more, call his office at (702) 963-9360.

Community Recovery Grant applications that help Nevada's most vulnerable communities relieve hardships experienced due to the COVID-19 pandemic will be prioritized. Potential applicants should keep in mind that the mission of the Community Recovery Grants is to:

  • Invest in schools that prepare all children for success
  • Solidify a healthy state for all Nevadans
  • Provide good jobs for a diverse, vibrant and sustainable workforce
  • Support families with access to quality and affordable childcare
  • Strengthen secure housing for all who call Nevada home
