Congressman on the Job: Horsford Suits Up at Station 52 to See How Federal Dollars Save Lives

NORTH LAS VEGAS – Congressman Steven Horsford (NV-04) continued his “Congressman on the Job” series, a district-wide initiative where he steps directly into Nevada workplaces to experience firsthand the challenges facing workers, small businesses, and families across the Fourth District.

Following previous visits to Mario’s and Gritz Café, Congressman Horsford’s latest stop brought him to Fire Station 52 in North Las Vegas, where he spent time alongside firefighters and first responders on the front lines of public safety.

“Firefighters run toward danger when everyone else is running away,” said Rep. Horsford. “At Station 52, in the heart of my district, I put on nearly 75 pounds of gear and experienced firsthand the strength, training, and commitment it takes to do this job. I also visited the temporary training facility and heard about their plans for a permanent one, made possible by the federal Community Project Funding I secured. This project will expand training capacity and help prepare more firefighters with the tools they need to save lives. I’m proud to have delivered resources to support those who protect our communities every day.”

During the visit, Congressman Horsford toured new fire trucks, trained with firefighters in full gear, and visited the temporary fire training facility. Community Project Funding investments secured by Congressman Horsford are strengthening emergency response capabilities, enhancing firefighter safety, and ensuring North Las Vegas remains prepared to respond to crises.
