WASHINGTON  – Congressman Steven Horsford (NV-04) has been appointed to serve as a Chief Deputy Whip in the U.S. House of Representatives, a key leadership position within the Democratic Caucus. Congressman Horsford will work closely with Democratic Whip Katherine Clark and House leadership to help coordinate legislative strategy, build consensus among Democratic members, and advance key priorities for the American people.

"I am honored to serve as a Chief Deputy Whip and to work alongside my colleagues to deliver results for my constituents in Nevada and the American people. Our focus remains clear—creating good-paying jobs, lowering costs and making life more affordable for families, and ensuring every American has access to the opportunities to thrive,” said Congressman Horsford“I look forward to helping lead our Caucus as we put people over politics and work toward a stronger, fairer, and more equitable future."

As Chief Deputy Whip, Congressman Horsford will play a pivotal role in advancing policies that strengthen the middle class, lower costs for families, and promote economic equity, all while standing firm against the extreme agenda of House Republicans.

Democratic Whip Katherine Clark praised Horsford’s leadership and effectiveness: "Rep. Steven Horsford is a highly effective advocate for the people of Nevada’s 4th District and an invaluable member of the House Democratic Caucus. In addition to being the Chair of the Congressional Black Caucus, I’m thrilled that he will serve as a Chief Deputy Whip and help lead our fight to lower costs, grow the middle class, and stop the Republicans' extreme MAGA agenda."

As the representative for Nevada's 4th Congressional District, Congressman Horsford has consistently advocated for working families, economic equity, and justice. As chair of the Congressional Black Caucus, he has been a powerful voice on issues such as criminal justice reform, affordable healthcare, and economic opportunity for underserved communities. In this new role, Congressman Horsford will continue to represent the interests of Nevada’s 4th District while working to advance the priorities of the Democratic Caucus and the interests of working families in the U.S. House of Representatives.
