Congressman Steven Horsford Defends Four Bills to Lower Health Care Costs and Drug Prices in Ways and Means Committee

Washington, D.C. — Congressman Steven Horsford (NV-04) delivered remarks in the House Ways and Means Committee mark up on Tuesday, encouraging his colleagues to speedily pass four pieces of legislation for the benefit of Nevadans and all Americans. The four bills debated in the committee included:

  1. H.R. 3, the Lower Drug Costs Now Act, to reduce drug prices for Americans across the country and stop pharmaceutical companies from hiking up the costs of necessary and life-saving medications, including provisions from H.R. 4649, the Capping Drug Costs for Seniors Act, to create an out-of-pocket prescription drug cap at $2,000, saving American seniors thousands of dollars on life-saving medications.

  1. H.R. 4650, the Medicare Dental Act, which would allow Medicare beneficiaries to have access to dental coverage for most dental services such as preventive dental care, routine dental treatments, and dentures.
