Congressman Steven Horsford Holds Rural Listening Sessions on the American Rescue Plan
MESQUITE, NEV. — This week, Congressman Steven Horsford met with rural leaders in Nevada's Fourth District for listening sessions focused on COVID-19 relief and the American Rescue Plan.
The sessions, which took place in-person in Mesquite and virtually over Zoom, included Mesquite Mayor Pro-Tem Sandra Ramaker, Mesa View Hospital CEO Kelly Adams, Yerington Mayor John Garry, Nye County Manager Tim Sutton, Esmeralda County Commissioner Timothy Hipp, and other civic, business, and community leaders.
"Nevada's rural families have faced unique challenges throughout the COVID-19 pandemic — from long drives for medical care to inconsistent broadband access. As we begin to rebuild from the turmoil of the last year, we must make sure that no community is left behind," said Congressman Steven Horsford. "I'm grateful to the rural leaders who met with me this week, and I look forward to continuing our work to help all Nevadans build back better from this pandemic."
