Congressman Steven Horsford Joins Conservationists in Support of Federal Funding for Parks
NORTH LAS VEGAS, NV - Today, Congressman Steven Horsford will appear alongside Nevada conservation activists and community organizations at a press conference highlighting the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) at Kiel Ranch Historic Park, one example of where LWCF funds have directly benefited the North Las Vegas community. Speakers will address the benefits of preserving Nevada's public lands, as well as the ongoing effort to ensure dedicated and permanent funding for the LWCF program.
Earlier this year, Congress voted to reauthorize the LWCF. Congressman Horsford supported this effort as a member of the House Committee on Natural Resources voted to pass S. 47, the Natural Resources Management Act to reauthorize the LWCF with full, dedicated funding. The bill was signed into law by the President, but work still remains to ensure Nevada's parks and public lands receive the resources and care they deserve.
