Congressman Steven Horsford’s Statement on the 18th Anniversary of the September 11, 2001 Terrorist Attacks

September 11, 2019

Washington, D.C. – Wednesday marks the 18th anniversary of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. Congressman Steven Horsford (NV-04) released the following statement:

"Eighteen years ago today our country was marred by an act of terrorism unseen within our borders. This day marks one of our nation's darkest moments, and a day for Americans across the country to unite with compassion and courage," Congressman Horsford said. "Today, we remember the approximately 3,000 lives lost that day and in the days since, and honor the heroes who were there in our country's tragic moment of need."

"Earlier this year, I was proud to vote in favor of the Never Forget the Heroes Act to provide 9/11 heroes, survivors and their families with the financial security and support they deserve. Their sacrifices on that day and the sacrifice of all those who have served our nation in the years since reaffirm our devotion to opposing extremism and terror across the globe."
