Congressman Steven Horsford Statement on Nevada Day
Washington, D.C. — Today, October 31, 2019, marks a celebration of the great state of Nevada. Nevada Day (observed last Friday, but officially on October 31) commemorates the date of Nevada's admission to statehood. To mark that anniversary, Congressman Horsford released the following statement:
"First and foremost, I want to wish all Nevadans a happy Nevada Day. I am so proud to be able to represent a state as wondrous, diverse and strong as the great state of Nevada.
It is the greatest honor, and one I thank God for every day, to work in Congress to better the lives of the people of our state. My district encompasses 52,000 square miles, from the bright light of Las Vegas, the impeccable lands of the Great Basin and the beautiful Desert National Wildlife Refuge. I am grateful every day that I get to call this district, and this state, my home. I can think of no place I would rather return to."
