Congressman Steven Horsford Visits Southern Nevada Vaccination Sites with North Las Vegas Councilwoman Pamela A. Goynes-Brown and Clark County Commission Chairman Marilyn Kirkpatrick

January 28, 2021

NORTH LAS VEGAS, NV — Today, Congressman Steven Horsford visited a COVID-19 vaccine distribution site in North Las Vegas at Canyon Springs High School alongside North Las Vegas Councilwoman Pamela A. Goynes-Brown, and was joined by Clark County Commission Chairman Marilyn Kirkpatrick for a visit to a second vaccination site at the Cashman Center in Las Vegas. These visits allowed Congressman Horsford to witness the vaccination process, thank the frontline health professionals administering the vaccines, and learn about the resources used to operate the vaccination sites across the valley and how the federal government can provide more critical aid.

"We toured these vaccination centers in order to see the sites and better understand the resources they need to increase their capacity to vaccinate as many people as possible," said Congressman Steven Horsford. "The work done at the state and local level is a crucial part of addressing this crisis head- on and I am committed to coordinating at the federal level with our local partners to streamline the vaccination process. I commend Commissioner Kirkpatrick, our heroes on the front lines, and the state and local officials involved in the process for their work in addressing the pandemic and getting this critical vaccine process in place."

Following the visits, Congressman Horsford and Chairman Kirkpatrick hosted a press conference in which they took questions about equitable vaccine distribution, bipartisan efforts to provide federal COVID-19 relief, and safe school reopening, among other topics.

The press conference in full can be listened to here.
