Horsford Applauds Rescheduling of Marijuana to Correct Longstanding Injustices
WASHINGTON – Today, Congressman Steven Horsford (NV-04) expressed his support for the Biden administration’s initiative to reclassify marijuana as a lower-risk substance. He released the following statement:
“I commend President Biden’s efforts to move marijuana to Schedule III. Thanks to these efforts, we can start to heal the wounds of injustice from the laws that disproportionately impacted Black communities. Since legalizing marijuana, Nevada has seen economic growth that has contributed tens of millions of dollars for education and created thousands of jobs. These opportunities help our communities by fostering economic development and benefit our public services. Thanks to today’s decision and the President’s recent pardons for marijuana offenses, we’re taking significant steps towards a more equitable and prosperous society.”
