Horsford Applauds Wins for Nye County in the Water Resources Development Act

December 10, 2024

WASHINGTON – Today, Congressman Steven Horsford (NV-04) celebrated the passage of the Water Resources Development Act and highlighted the federal investments for Nye County and the town of Pahrump. The legislation will help to transform the region’s water infrastructure and drought management.

“This is a big win for Nye County and our rural communities,” said Congressman Horsford. “With $14 million secured for water and wastewater infrastructure in the Pahrump Valley, we’re taking a major step toward ensuring reliable, clean water for Nevadans. I’m proud to support this legislation to address long-standing water challenges and invest in the future of our state.”

The Water Resources Development Act of 2024 allocates $10 million for environmental infrastructure projects, including a water wellfield and pipeline in Nye County, and an additional $4 million for water and wastewater directly in the town of Pahrump. These funds will provide support for modernizing local water systems, improving quality of life, and fostering economic growth.
