Horsford Stands Against Government Shutdown, Advocates for Nevada’s Working Families
WASHINGTON – Congressman Steven Horsford (NV-04) released the followed statement emphasizing the urgent need to avert a government shutdown:
“A government shutdown would be disastrous for Nevada’s working families. Elon Musk and Donald Trump ordered House Republicans to walk away from a bipartisan deal that would have included $70 million in investments for Nevada, including $34 million towards disaster and economic relief for our farmers and $8.55 million in critical infrastructure repair funding. And now, over 12,000 federal employees in Nevada could be furloughed, days before the holidays.
“Once again, the public servants that help Nevadans are being used as pawns in partisan games. Rather than giving in to the chaos and division, I am focused on practical solutions that protect Nevada families and keep the government open and working for the people. Nevadans deserve leadership that prioritizes stability and progress, and I will continue to work for the resources our communities need to thrive.”
