Horsford Statement as Walmart Moves to Return $2.9 Billion in Tariff Refunds to Consumers

NORTH LAS VEGAS – Congressman Steven Horsford (NV-04) released the following statement after Walmart announced it is directing $2.9 billion in tariff refunds toward price cuts for customers:

"Walmart's decision didn't happen by accident. In April, I sent a letter demanding that Walmart ensure their tariff refunds reach the people – the consumer – who actually paid the price of Trump’s reckless tariffs.

"These illegal tariffs raised costs on everyday families and forced small businesses across the country to close their doors for good. Working families paid the price at checkout every single day, and now the large corporations are getting their money back while families are being left out.

"That's exactly why I introduced the RELIEF Act to make tariff refunds automatic, so families and small businesses don't have to wait on corporations to do the right thing. If you paid the price, you deserve the refund. I'm not stopping until you get it."
