Horsford: Trump’s Attacks in Iran Endangered U.S. Military

June 23, 2025

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Steven Horsford (NV-04) released the following statement today after Iran attacked U.S. military forces on Monday. The attacks are an escalation resulting from President Trump’s offensive air strikes on Iranian nuclear infrastructure over the weekend.

“Our armed forces deserve unwavering support from civilian leaders – they earn that right through incredible sacrifices to self and family,” Rep. Horsford said. “Right now, air sirens are blaring at U.S. bases across the Middle East because President Trump ignored the dangers that his impulsive air strikes posed for our military personnel. The President has no authority to entangle the United States in a new war, and Congress has not authorized the use of military force.

“Trump’s unilateral use of force threatens our troops, undermines our leadership on the world stage, and flies in the face of our Constitution,” Horsford continued. “This Administration must be held accountable, and Congress must assert itself to ensure the American people have a voice in decisions of war and peace.”
