Horsford Votes for Continuing Resolution to Prevent Government Shutdown
WASHINGTON – Congressman Steven Horsford today voted to pass the continuing resolution to keep our federal government open another 45 days. He released the following statement after the vote:
"Today, I voted to keep our government open and prevent a disastrous shutdown that would have hurt federal workers and their families and wreaked havoc on our economy. By avoiding the extreme MAGA Republican shutdown, we will prevent interruption in pay to U.S. servicemembers and keep our travel and tourism economy growing in Southern Nevada.
"I’ll continue to work with my colleagues to find a bi-partisan resolution to fully fund our government for the next fiscal year and avoid extreme MAGA Republican poison pills like criminalizing abortion nationally or drastic cuts to Title I teachers and education programs."
