House Passes The Clean Economy Jobs and Innovation Act and Includes Horsford Geothermal Amendment
Washington, D.C. -- Today, the House voted to pass the Clean Economy Jobs and Innovation Act, which included an amendment led by Representatives Steven Horsford (NV-04), Mike Thompson (CA-05), and Kendra Horn (OK-05) to support geothermal job creation and renewable energy resources in Nevada's Fourth Congressional District.
"In order to avoid the most catastrophic consequences of the climate crisis, we must take immediate action and invest in a clean energy economy. That's why I voted for the Clean Economy Jobs and Innovation Act, which included my amendment to secure geothermal energy as a critical renewable energy option for Nevada." said Congressman Steven Horsford. "My amendment allows us to take full advantage of Nevada's vast harbor of geothermal resources and spurs job growth, especially in our rural communities."
The Clean Economy Jobs and Innovation Act, H.R. 4447, provides a path towards modernizing our energy system while tackling the climate crisis and growing our economy. The bill focuses on growing our economy and making our energy infrastructure more sustainable by allocating $4 billion for research, development, demonstration, and commercial application into renewable energy technologies.
