Statement from Congressman Horsford on the Build Back Better Act and Voting Rights
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, Congressman Steven Horsford (D-NV-04) issued the following statement in response to reports that the Senate is considering delaying a vote on the Build Back Better Act until January to focus on voting rights priorities.
"Americans are counting on Congress to protect our rights and improve our lives. There is no forced choice between protecting the freedom to vote and passing the Build Back Better Act — we must do both," said Congressman Steven Horsford. "As we fight to recover from the pandemic, my constituents need the Build Back Better Act to create good-paying jobs, lower costs on essentials like housing, health care, and child care, and extend monthly Child Tax Credit payments for families. Our progress as a nation should not depend on the whims of Washington politicians. It's time for Congress to deliver for the people."
