Statement On Agreement To End The Government Shutdown
January 25, 2019
Congressman Steven Horsford (NV-04) released the following statement in response to today's agreement on a three-week continuing resolution to end the government shutdown.
"I'm glad that the President has agreed to reopen the government. But 3,500 Nevada workers have been denied paychecks for more than a month. And simply reopening the government won't help them pay the late fees and fines they've been charged over the past 35 days," said Congressman Horsford. "Congress has an obligation to ensure Nevadans are made whole for all of the financial costs they've incurred during this wasteful and senseless shutdown. I will continue working with my colleagues to make sure Nevada families receive every penny they are owed."
