This has to stop! As a Black parent raising two sons and a daughter, I am deeply saddened by the ongoing trauma our families endure every single day, waking up to the news of another Black life lost at the hands of law enforcement. It is a heart-wrenching reality that we face, and it is time for change. We must pass the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act and hold officers accountable for their actions, putting an end to practices like chokeholds and establishing higher standards.  We must come together to demand justice, equality, and an end to the senseless violence inflicted upon Black communities. It is a collective responsibility to ensure a future where all individuals, regardless of their race, can live without fear, discrimination, or the loss of their loved ones.
