Congressman Horsford Holds Listening Sessions with Tribal Leaders from the Walker River Paiute Tribe and Local Leaders in Tonopah and Hawthorne

October 15, 2021

This week, Congressman Steven Horsford (D-NV-04) held listening sessions with the leadership of the Walker River Paiute Tribe and with local leaders in Tonopah and Hawthorne, Nevada. The listening sessions focused on ongoing pandemic recovery efforts in rural Nevada and the road to build back better after COVID-19.

"Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Nevada's rural and Tribal communities have faced unique challenges — from long drives for health care to inadequate broadband for virtual learning. During this week's listening sessions, I was glad to hear from rural and Tribal leaders about the federal support they need to Build Back Better," said Congressman Steven Horsford. "As Nevada continues to rebuild from the pandemic, I am excited to continue working with local leaders to create jobs, lower costs for working people, and make sure every family has a place in our recovery."
