Congressman Horsford joins Congresswoman Lee and Battle Born Progress for Roundtable on Prescription Drug Pricing

August 16, 2019

Las Vegas, NV – Coinciding with the People Over Pharma Profits National Day of Action on August 20th, Congressman Steven Horsford (NV-04) will join Battle Born Progress, Congresswoman Susie Lee (NV-03), State Senator Yvanna Cancela (SD-10), and other community organizations and activists on the subject of reigning in prescription drug costs for Nevadans.

"High drug prices are forcing Nevadans to have to choose between refilling a medication and paying their gas bill, or being able to eat every day," Congressman Horsford said. "That is unacceptable. We live in the richest country in the world. No one should be skipping pills so they can stretch their medication out a bit further."

Lowering prescription drug prices is at the top of the Congressman's legislative agenda in his ongoing fight to protect the health care of his constituents. Earlier this year, Congressman Horsford introduced the SPIKE Act, H.R. 2069, bipartisan legislation to stop pharmaceutical industry price gouging by requiring them to justify their large price hikes. That legislation passed the House Ways & Means Committee on a unanimous, bipartisan vote of 40-0.
