Congressman Steven Horsford Announces Opening of Shuttered Venue Operators Grant Program to Support Nevada Businesses

April 7, 2021

Through the American Rescue Plan, Congressman Horsford Helped Secure Additional Funding for Local Venue Businesses Impacted by COVID-19

NORTH LAS VEGAS, NEV. — Today, Congressman Steven Horsford announced that the Small Business Administration's Shuttered Venue Operators Grant (SVOG) program will begin accepting applications tomorrow, April 8th, 2021. Congressman Horsford secured additional funding for the SVOG program as part of the American Rescue Plan's support for small businesses. The program includes over $16 billion in grants for shuttered venues.

"Nevada's entertainment industry is an essential part of our culture and regional economy, drawing tourists from across the globe. The pandemic forced many of our most vibrant venues to close — but thanks to the American Rescue Plan, help is here," said Congressman Steven Horsford. "The opening of the Shuttered Venue Operators Grant program will help venues recover, get workers back on the job, and allow our entertainment industry to continue their vital role in our economy. I'm proud to have worked to secure funding for this program, and I urge all Nevada venue operators to apply for the assistance they need."
