Las Vegas, NV -- Today, Congressman Steven Horsford celebrated the anniversary of America's founding with a strong commitment to passing bold legislation to rebuild our nation.

“During the Fourth of July, we celebrate the anniversary of America’s founding and blessings of liberty. We take a moment to remember the patriots who fought to declare our independence and the many service members who continue to defend our country’s purest ideals of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness,” said Congressman Steven Horsford. “As we celebrate this special day and how far our nation has come, we must remember that the fight for independence, freedom, and opportunity is far from over. We must recognize that communities of color, specifically our Black community, never had a fair chance at pursuing the very founding principles we hold so dear. That is why it is more imperative than ever that we rekindle the spirit of unity and courage that helped form our nation and pass bold legislation that justly serves our people.”

“In the last two weeks, the House delivered on long overdue reform by passing the Affordable Care Enhancement Act to give our communities access to lower healthcare costs, the Justice in Policing Act to stand up to police brutality and a broken justice system, and the Moving Forward Act, the greenest infrastructure investment in recent memory. These bills ensure our nation’s fundamental values are made a reality for every American. Together, we must continue the fight to protect our country for future generations.”
