Congressman Steven Horsford Hosts Facebook Live with Immigration Leaders
NORTH LAS VEGAS, NV — Today, Congressman Steven Horsford hosted a live-streamed meeting with leaders from Southern Nevada’s immigrant communities to discuss provisions in the American Rescue Plan that will benefit immigrants, and key legislative initiatives that he is working to advance this Congress, including the U.S. Citizenship Act and the American Dream and Promise Act.
“During the previous administration, Nevada’s immigrant communities faced an unrelenting assault on their rights and humanity. With a new Congress and a new president, I’m looking forward to making real progress to bring families together, create new pathways to citizenship, and give immigrant communities the support they need to thrive,” said Congressman Steven Horsford. “I’d like to thank Astrid Silva, Mariana Kihuen, Councilman Isaac Barron, Bliss Requa-Trautz, Guy Girardin, and all of our attendees for their commitment and advocacy to immigrant families in Southern Nevada. I’m looking forward to our continued conversations as we work to build a fairer, stronger immigration system that treats every person with the respect they deserve.”
