WASHINGTON D.C. – Congressman Steven Horsford (NV-04) this week spoke on the floor of the House of Representatives during National Police Week to honor Officer Jason Roscow of the North Las Vegas Police Department, who lost his life in the line of duty on February 4, 2025. Officer Roscow’s name will be added to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington, D.C., alongside officers from across the nation who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to their communities.

WASHINGTON D.C. – Congressman Steven Horsford (NV-04) today introduced the Tax Cut for Striking Workers Act, legislation to ensure workers are not taxed on the strike stipends they receive while on strike. The bill would provide relief for striking workers by excluding payments from union strike funds from a taxpayer’s gross income.

“Today, the Supreme Court dealt a devastating blow to the Voting Rights Act of 1965, one of the most consequential civil rights laws in American history. 
People fought, bled, and died for these protections. They marched across the Edmund Pettus Bridge. They organized in church basements and community halls. They demanded that the promise written in the Constitution finally be kept.

The event drew nearly 300 attendees, far exceeding the expected RSVP list and underscoring the high demand for accessible, on-the-ground federal services.
