NORTH LAS VEGAS, NEV. — Congressman Steven Horsford (D-NV-04) is urging local non-profit organizations to apply for $30 million in Community Recovery Grants funded by the American Rescue Plan. Applications for the Community Recovery Grants program opened on December 9, 2021 and will close on January 3, 2022.
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, Congressman Steven Horsford (D-NV-04) joined his colleagues on the House Ways and Means Oversight Subcommittee to examine the findings of the so-called Pandora Papers — 11.9 million leaked documents published by the International Consortium of Independent Journalists that exposed the hidden wealth of billionaires, politicians, and public officials in 91 countries.
Every month since July, Las Vegas resident Lori Muñoz receives around $300 for her daughter as part of the federal child tax credit. She spends it on school clothes, school lunches and other expenses that may come up.
"It's just been a huge help in that area," Muñoz said. "You always think, ‘oh it's some extra money.' It's never extra money. … Kids always need, there's always something that needs to be bought."
