This month, I introduced new legislation to increase opportunities for minority entrepreneurs to own broadcast stations in our communities. The Broadcast Varied Ownership Incentives for Community Expanded Service, or Broadcast VOICES Act, restores a program once proven effective and is very much needed today. The legislation will increase diversity among owners in the broadcasting industry by restoring mechanisms that encourage investment in broadcast stations owned by minorities and women.
WASHINGTON – Today, Congressman Steven Horsford (NV-04) introduced the Broadcast Varied Ownership Incentives for Community Expanded Service (VOICES) Act. WASHINGTON – Today, Congressman Steven Horsford (NV-04) voted no on the H.R. 7521, a bill to force divestment in TikTok. National security is paramount to protecting our democracy and our people, but so are the First Amendment rights of our citizens. This legislation was rushed from committee to the House floor, raising concerns about the unintended consequences.

WASHINGTON – Today, Congressman Steven Horsford voted to finalize $28,202,279 in Community Project Funding that he previously secured for Nevada’s 4th District in the 2024 spending bills. This funding, included in the first of the appropriations government funding packages, responds directly to some of the most pressing needs in Las Vegas, North Las Vegas, Henderson, and Pahrump.
