Washington, D.C. — On Monday, Congressman Steven Horsford (NV-04) announced $2.6 million in funding from the Federal Communications Commission for two Internet companies operating in Nevada's Fourth Congressional District: California Internet and Valley Communications Association.

The funding comes from the Connect America Fund and is part of a larger $5.6 million awarded to 1,076 homes and businesses in underserved parts of rural Nevada. The funding will build out connectivity in Clark, Douglas, and Nye Counties.

Washington, D.C. — Nevada will receive $790,000 in funding from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to fight public exposure to radon, Congressman Steven Horsford (NV-04) announced on Monday. The Nevada Department of Health and Human Services will use the funding to support outreach and develop tools to reduce exposure to the naturally occurring radioactive gas, which is the second leading cause of lung cancer in the United States.
