It was an honor to return to Carson City and address a joint session of the Nevada Legislature, where I shared what we're doing in DC to deliver in the areas that matter most for Nevadans, like affordable housing, safer communities, and lower prices.

Earlier this week, the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) announced that it will begin seeking public comment about the proposed Libra Solar Project that would generate close to 700 megawatts of electricity on 5,500 acres of public lands mainly located in Mineral County.
Instead of threatening our economy & cutting benefits for veterans, seniors, & hundreds of thousands of families, let's expand the Child Tax Credit & SNAP to ensure no kids need to live in poverty or go hungry. I urge my colleagues to vote NO on the Default on America Act.

The Brightline West project, a 218-mile, all-electric rail system slated for construction along the infamously congested Interstate 15 corridor, kicked off Monday morning at the site of its future Las Vegas Station in the central valley, with hundreds in attendance, from legislators and local business leaders to union contractors and other stakeholders.
I raise concerns about a proposed hard close deadline for open-end funds, which could disadvantage West Coast investors who rely on intermediaries for trades. Additionally, I address the issue of the credit rating agency's failure to accurately assess institutional risks and urge the SEC to assess their performance and address the root causes of inaccuracies.
I highlight the significance of multilateral approaches and collaboration with allies and partners to ensure deterrence and address challenges in the region. I specifically mention the collaboration with Japan and the advancements in defense capabilities. Additionally, I inquire about efforts to promote climate resiliency in the Indo-Pacific and emphasize the importance of green technologies in supporting defense requirements.
LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — U.S. Small Business Administrator Isabella Casillas Guzman is in Las Vegas.
She joined Congressman Steven Horsford on Wednesday for President Biden's 'Invest in America' tour.
I am glad to see the large-scale investments in taking care of our service members in President Biden's FY24 budget by increasing service member compensation, launching Universal pre-kindergarten at all Department of Defense Education Activity schools, and continuing to combat sexual assault and harassment in the services. I believe it is critically important to support policies that ensure our forces can work as a cohesive team and that means addressing disparities that affect our military service members of color and our women service members.
Banks will only continue if the sense of risk within the financial system persists. Uninsured depositors are leaving our mid-sized Banks because they feel that their money is safer elsewhere, even as these Banks show continued strength and sound financial footing. Deposit Insurance is crucial for many of my constituents to get a sense of peace of mind and we cannot have the perception of a two-tiered banking system in this country where only the largest banks are protected.
The majority of my constituents back home in Nevada want us to focus on issues around food security, helping people keep a roof over their heads, and making sure that we are implementing the bills that we passed last Congress, that create good-paying jobs that help small businesses grow.
