LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — As rents spiral out of control, the need for more affordable housing across the valley is becoming more urgent.
WASHINGTON – Today, Congressman Steven Horsford announced a $5.2 million grant from U.S Department of Commerce's Economic Development Administration for the Walker River Paiute Tribe in Schurz, Nevada. The funding will be used to boost business development and job growth in the region by improving the local water system infrastructure.
WASHINGTON – Recently, Congressman Steven Horford (D-NV-04) and Senator Catherine Cortez Masto (D-NV) led a bipartisan, bicameral letter to the Secretary of the Interior advocating for Nevada’s mining industry.
The mining industry helps rural communities get the jobs and economic benefits they earn and deserve. Nevada is home to many critical minerals, including the only lithium deposit in the United States. Nevada’s mines are crucial for our domestic supply chains and protect our national security.
I am confident we'll win re-election in Nevada's fourth district. My constituents want a leader who fights for lower costs, good jobs, and safer communities. I helped pass the inflation reduction act, which addresses the climate crisis and reduces costs for Nevadans, including lower prescription drug costs and protecting those under the affordable care act. I'm committed to serving my constituents and their top priorities.
