The Brightline West project, a 218-mile, all-electric rail system slated for construction along the infamously congested Interstate 15 corridor, kicked off Monday morning at the site of its future Las Vegas Station in the central valley, with hundreds in attendance, from legislators and local business leaders to union contractors and other stakeholders.
I highlight the significance of multilateral approaches and collaboration with allies and partners to ensure deterrence and address challenges in the region. I specifically mention the collaboration with Japan and the advancements in defense capabilities.
WASHINGTON - Today, Congressman Steven Horsford (NV-04) voted for a government funding bill that prevents a shutdown and makes historic investments in American families and workers. The legislation will also strengthen Democracy at home and abroad and fund the implementation of the PACT Act we passed earlier this year. It also delivers more than $21M for 14 local projects in Nevada’s 4thCongressional District.
My bipartisan, bicameral legislation, the Great Basin National Heritage Area, and the Mormon Pioneer National Heritage Area Extension Act were included as part of the National Heritage area act, which is currently being debated.

LAS VEGAS -- After a decade in limbo, Nevada is pressing U.S. nuclear regulators to finally kill a mothballed proposal to entomb the nation’s most radioactive waste beneath a windswept volcanic ridge north of Las Vegas.
WASHINGTON – Recently, Congressman Steven Horford (D-NV-04) and Senator Catherine Cortez Masto (D-NV) led a bipartisan, bicameral letter to the Secretary of the Interior advocating for Nevada’s mining industry.
The mining industry helps rural communities get the jobs and economic benefits they earn and deserve. Nevada is home to many critical minerals, including the only lithium deposit in the United States. Nevada’s mines are crucial for our domestic supply chains and protect our national security.
