WASHINGTON – President Joe Biden signed into law a sweeping health, climate and tax bill Tuesday that includes funding for drought-plagued states like Nevada, measures to lower prescription drug prices for seniors and tax credits to bolster solar and other clean energy.
The crucial vote on the Inflation Reduction Act will include a $4 billion investment aimed at addressing the current drought, which has been recognized as the most severe in 12 centuries.

I am in strong support of H.R. 5118, the wildfire response in this year's appropriation bill. It's great to hear that we secured six million dollars for Lake Mead and the Las Vegas wash program to directly address the falling water levels. This legislation, the wildfire response and resiliency act, will further address some of the issues being caused by this heat and drought.
The upcoming vote in Congress is crucial. This legislation is an essential resource in our mission to replenish our water basins and reservoirs and ultimately restore our valuable water resources like Lake Mead. We must take this necessary step to ensure that our communities and future generations have enough water.
WASHINGTON – Today, Congressman Steven Horsford (NV-04) joined Congresswomen Susie Lee (NV-03) and Dina Titus (NV-01) in introducing H.R. 8415, the Las Vegas Wash Program Extension Act. This legislation was introduced in the Senate by Sens. Cortez Masto (D-NV) and Rosen (D-NV) and will provide additional funding to support erosion control projects and critical infrastructure around the Las Vegas Wash.
