Bad policing shouldn't exist anywhere in America. This is not a Republican issue or a Democratic issue. This is about safety. All of us should want safety. It's important to hold law enforcement accountable for their actions and ensure they are properly trained to handle situations.
I believe in supporting law enforcement and funding our police. The men and women who work in law enforcement do their jobs nobly every day. However, when there are incidents of bad policing practices, we must address them. Upholding the law and ensuring safety for all should be top priorities.

The legislation will also strengthen Democracy at home and abroad and fund the implementation of the PACT Act we passed earlier this year. It also delivers more than $21M for 14 local projects in Nevada’s 4thCongressional District.
WASHINGTON - Today, the U.S. House of Representatives passed H.R. 4118, the Break the Cycle of Violence Act, by a vote of 220-207. Congressman Steven Horsford introduced the legislation in June 2021. Today's action comes after portions of the legislation were included in the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act passed in June.
We must take action to prevent crime from happening in the first place. That's why the Break the Cycle of Violence initiative is so important. These funds will be invested in proven community-based violence prevention programs to help build safer communities. By doing so, we can break the cycle of violence and create a brighter future for everyone.
