As a member of the authorizing committee, he fought in committee to improve the bill with several amendments before it passed out of the committee with nearly unanimous support of Democrats and Republicans.

WASHINGTON – Today, Congressman Steven Horsford (NV-04) offered an amendment during the consideration of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year 2024 in the House Armed Services Committee. The amendment secured historic funding for research investment at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and other Minority Serving Institutions (MSIs).
