WASHINGTON – Today, Congressman Steven Horsford (NV-04), a member of the House Armed Services Committee and Chairman of the Congressional Black Caucus, for the first time, voted against the National Defense Authorization Act after extreme MAGA Republicans forced their fringe beliefs on nation’s servicemembers. As a member of the authorizing committee, he fought in committee to improve the bill with several amendments before it passed out of the committee with nearly unanimous support of Democrats and Republicans.

WASHINGTON – Today, Congressman Steven Horsford (NV-04) offered an amendment during the consideration of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year 2024 in the House Armed Services Committee. The amendment secured historic funding for research investment at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and other Minority Serving Institutions (MSIs). The amendment had bipartisan support in the committee, and had the support of all the members of the Tri-Caucus that sit on the committee. Horsford issued the following statement:
