WASHINGTON, D.C. — Congressman Steven Horsford (D-NV-04) has introduced the End Double Taxation of Successful Consumer Claims Act, which would help ensure that Nevadans who win consumer protection lawsuits are not liable for taxes on the fees paid to their attorneys.

NORTH LAS VEGAS, NEV. — This week, Congressman Steven Horsford (D-NV-04) joined a bipartisan group of legislators to introduce the Pathways to Health Careers Act, legislation to modernize the Health Profession Opportunity Grant (HPOG) program to better support low-income workers as they seek training and education for in-demand health care careers. The HPOG program has a proven track record of successfully educating workers for in-demand jobs in the health care industry, while also providing career coaching and job placement, along with a mix of other support services.

The payments start today and will continue through December 2021 as part of the American Rescue Plan's relief for working families.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Congressman Steven Horsford (D-NV-04) has announced that his office secured more than $7.3 million in funding for community projects in Nevada's Fourth District through funding bills passed out of House Appropriations Committee subcommittees.

The bills will now move to consideration in the full Appropriations Committee, and then to consideration on the House floor and negotiations with the Senate.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, Representatives Steven Horsford (D-NV-04), Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC), Jamie Raskin (D-MD-08), and Abigail Spanberger (D-VA-07) introduced the Stopping the Pharmaceutical Industry from Keeping Drugs Expensive (SPIKE) Act, which would require drug manufacturers to publicly justify high prices for new pharmaceutical drugs or large price increases for existing drugs. Today, Representative Horsford also introduced the Capping Drug Costs for Seniors Act, which would cap out-of-pocket costs for seniors enrolled in Medicare Part D.

Representative Horsford is also introducing the SPIKE Act, which requires drug manufacturers to publicly justify large price increases and high launch prices.

Congressman Horsford is an original co-sponsor of the legislation.
