Washington, D.C. -- Today, Congressman Steven Horsford (NV-04) joined his colleagues in the Natural Resources Subcommittee on National Parks, Forests, and Public Lands for a virtual forum to discuss the restoration economy and examine environmental and economic opportunities. Restoration economy can be inclusive of efforts to conserve public lands and repair built infrastructure, but this forum will more specifically examine how we can invest in and grow the workforce needed to enhance natural ecosystem services and function.
Washington, D.C. -- Today, the House Select Committee on the Climate Crisis unveiled a comprehensive congressional climate action framework, highlighting Congressman Steven Horsford's bill, the Geothermal Energy Opportunity (GEO) Act as an important tool in the effort to solve the climate crisis. The GEO Act would give geothermal energy companies an investment tax credit, encourage job creation and lower energy prices in Nevada's Fourth Congressional District while also shifting the state to a focus on renewable energy resources.

Washington, D.C. — Today, Congressman Steven Horsford (NV-04) released the following statement about the absence of funding for the nuclear waste repository under Yucca Mountain after the President tweeted that he is committed to finding alternatives.
In the President's budget for Fiscal Year 2021, there is no funding allocated for licensing the planned nuclear waste repository under Yucca Mountain. That would reverse the White House's efforts in its past budget proposals to persuade Congress to appropriate money to reauthorize the site.

On May 28, 2019, Congressman Horsford spoke at a local press conference to reaffirm his support for the Land Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) that was recently granted $524 million in funding by the House Appropriations Committee.
