WASHINGTON, D.C. — On Tuesday night, the House Oversight and Reform Committee released allocation estimates showing that Nevada would receive nearly $4 billion in direct COVID-19 relief state and local funds from President Biden's American Rescue Plan. WASHINGTON D.C. – Today, Congressman Steven Horsford joined Representatives Rosa DeLauro (CT-03), Suzan DelBene (WA-01), and Ritchie Torres (NY-15), to reintroduce the American Family Act (AFA), legislation to permanently expand and improve the Child Tax Credit (CTC) and make it a dramatically more effective tool for reducing child poverty and supporting families with kids. The American Rescue Plan includes one year of an expanded and improved CTC modeled after the American Family Act.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, Congressman Steven Horsford introduced the Unemployed Worker Lifeline Act. This legislation would increase the federal supplemental unemployment insurance payment from $300 to $400 for weeks after March 14 and extend the $400 weekly supplemental payment to be paid on top of all types of unemployment insurance payments through October 3, 2021.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Congressman Steven Horsford has joined Chairman of the House Ways and Means Subcommittee on Select Revenue Measures Rep. Mike Thompson (CA-05) to introduce the Growing Renewable Energy and Efficiency Now Act (GREEN Act) which would tackle the climate crisis through the tax code. The GREEN Act includes Congressman Horsford's provision to incentivize the production of Dynamic Glass, a specialized glass product that saves energy by providing control over the amount of light and heat entering a building.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, Congressman Steven Horsford voted to pass the bipartisan National Apprenticeship Act of 2021. The legislation would create nearly one million apprenticeship opportunities and includes an amendment from Congressman Horsford to support the recruitment and retention of nontraditional apprenticeship students, including women and people of color.

Nevada Congressman Steven Horsford said Congress needs to act fast to get COVID-19 relief passed and money into Nevadan's pockets.

On Thursday, Horsford said the House passed a critical budget resolution to clear the way for the American Rescue Act, Pres. Joe Biden's COVID-19 relief bill. Early Friday morning, the Senate passed a similar resolution.

The $1.9 trillion plan would include $1,400 stimulus payments for eligible recipients, more unemployment relief and funding to help schools reopen safely.

The College of Southern Nevada received a nearly $7 million grant from the federal government to build a new educational facility to teach much-needed skills for high-paying jobs across the valley.

The U.S. Department of Commerce's Economic Development Administration said Thursday it is awarding $6.9 million in CARES Act Recovery Assistance grant funds to support workforce education and training at the College of Southern Nevada.
