Washington, D.C. — After hearing from Nevadans about their ongoing health care needs, Congressman Steven Horsford (NV-04) introduced H.R. 4650, the Medicare Dental Act of 2019 which would allow Medicare beneficiaries to have access to dental coverage for most dental services such as preventive dental care, routine dental treatments, and dentures. This bill is a part of the larger drug pricing package, the Lower Drug Costs Now Act (H.R. 3), which takes bold action to level the playing field for American patients and taxpayers.

Wilson (FL-24) introduced legislation to make college more affordable by improving estimates of off-campus room and board for students at colleges and universities. This bill is a part of the College Affordability Act, a plan from House Democrats to modernize higher education and make lower higher education costs for Americans.

Each year, there are over 12,000 gun deaths and 67,000 gun assaults in the U.S. — the Break the Cycle of Violence Act will allow communities to create violence intervention programs to curb this ever-growing number.

The Capping Drug Costs for Seniors Act will lower prescription drug costs for the 46 million patients who have Medicare Part D.

Rep. Steven Horsford, D-Nev., will announce a new bill on Wednesday that would authorize more than $900 million in federal funding for creating and strengthening community programs aimed at curbing gun violence.

Horsford will lead the bill in the House, while New Jersey senator and 2020 presidential candidate Cory Booker will helm the Senate's version. Both stressed the importance of the programs on neighborhoods of color, where residents are disproportionately affected by gun violence. They will introduce the legislation next week.
