The Housing Oversight and Mitigating Exploitation (HOME) Act of 2023, H.R. 702, addresses a trend that is creating artificial hikes in rents and property costs across the country, specifically in underserved communities, affecting Black and Latino families the most, and hurting single mothers trying to provide for their children.

Steven Horsford (NV-04), Terri Sewell (AL-07), and Joyce Beatty (OH-03) led 30 of their House colleagues in introducing H.R. 308, the Rosa Parks Day Act, to designate December 1st as a federal holiday honoring Rosa Parks. On December 1, 1955, in Montgomery, Alabama, Rosa Parks was arrested for refusing to give up her bus seat to a white passenger. Rep. Sewell was an original co-sponsor of the Rosa Parks Day Act in the 117th Congress and is now leading the introduction of the bill in the 118th Congress.
